O temi:

V zadnjih nekaj letih je terorizem resno prizadel evropske državljane. Medtem, ko so bile nekatere teroristične grožnje preprečene, je število izvedenih napadov pokazalo na pomanjkljivosti v zakonodaji in sodelovanju med državami članicami. Za odpravo teh pomanjkljivosti je Evropski parlament na pobudo Evropske ljudske stranke (ELS) ustanovil poseben odbor za terorizem (TERR). Odbor bo preučil obstoječe pravne in praktične instrumente v boju proti terorizmu in predlagal priporočila za odpravo vrzeli pri sodelovanju in izmenjavi informacij med nacionalnimi oblastmi kazenskega pregona. Odbor za terorizem je začel delovati septembra 2017 in ima dvanajst mesečni mandat.
