Erna Hennicot-Schoepges MEP (EPP-ED, Luxembourg), European Parliament rapporteur on the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008, organised a hearing on Cultural Diversity, Religions and Dialogue. The hearing was opened by the Vice-Chairman of the EPP-ED Group Gunnar Hökmark MEP (EPP-ED, Sweden) and Ján Figel´, EU Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth.

The hearing took place on 10 January 2008. The first session was entitled 'Respect for EU Values - Living Together', and the second 'Europe facing Religious Pluralism'.

Rapporteur of the European Parliament's report on the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 is Erna Hennicot-Schoepges MEP. Academics from Luxembourg, Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic, and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the hearing.
