Slovakia: condolences for Árpád Duka Zólyomi

The Chairman of the EPP Group, Joseph Daul, sent his condolences to the family and friends of Árpád Duka Zólyomi, former EPP MEP from Slovakia.

"I have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Árpád Duka Zólyomi, former MEP from Slovakia. On behalf of the EPP Group, I would like to express my deep condolences and sympathy to his family.

During his lifetime, Árpád Duka Zólyomi gained profound respect for his work in promoting the significance of cooperation among nations and nationalities in Europe and beyond. I also remember his active participation in the protection of human rights in Belarus and in other parts of the former Soviet Union.

As a convinced supporter of European integration, he served not only his Community, but his country's interests in promoting common European values.”
