La directive sur les recours collectifs européens sera portée par Geoffroy Didier

Geoffroy Didier, député européen LR-PPE, a été nommé rapporteur pour le Parlement européen sur le projet de directive sur les recours collectifs.

« Ce projet sera efficace s’il démontre que l’Europe devient un bouclier. Les consommateurs seront mieux protégés face aux quelques grands groupes qui violent la loi. Les entreprises seront, elles, mieux protégées face aux individus qui cherchent à les déstabiliser ».

Il s’agit de trouver un point d’équilibre entre la protection des intérêts des consommateurs d’un côté et la mise en place de garde-fous adéquats contre les recours abusifs de l’autre.

Geoffroy Didier affirme que « notre défi est de démontrer que nous pouvons mieux protéger les consommateurs tout en préservant la sécurité juridique des entreprises. Offrir à chacun un meilleur accès à la justice n’empêche en rien de lutter contre les recours abusifs ! ».

Ce rapport ambitionnera de créer un recours collectif européen, accessible à tous, qui veillera à éliminer tout risque de recours collectifs à des fins mercantiles et commerciales.
