Odmietame nadnárodnú európsku kandidačnú listinu

Stanovisko Ivana Štefanca,  europoslanca a vedúceho Slovenskej delegácie v poslaneckom klube Európskej ľudovej strany  k nadnárodnej, európskej kandidátke do eurovolieb v roku 2019.

Slovenská národná delegácia vo frakcii EPP pod mojim vedením je zásadne proti spoločnej európskej kandidátke do eurovolieb v roku 2019. Sme presvedčení, že nadnárodná európska kandidačná listina by len oddialila zvolených zástupcov od občanov. Za našu prácu sa zodpovedáme len našim voličom na Slovensku.

Zároveň vítame návrh Ústavnoprávneho výboru Európskeho parlamentu na zvýšenie počtu europoslancov pre Slovenskú republiku po odchode Veľkej Británie z Európskej únie na 14 z pôvodného počtu 13. Je to výsledkom práce Európskej ľudovej strany a ich slovenských zástupcov v Európskom parlamente. Budeme radi, ak náš návrh dnes podporia aj kolegovia zo socialistickej frakcie.
