La choucroute d’Alsace obtient enfin son IGP

La députée européenne Anne Sander se félicite aujourd’hui de la reconnaissance par l’UE de l’Indication Géographique Protégée (IGP) « Choucroute d’Alsace ». Désormais, le légume emblématique alsacien, transformé selon une méthode ancestrale de fermentation, sera protégé dans toute l’Union européenne.

« Cette reconnaissance est le fruit d’un travail engagé, depuis vingt ans, par les organisations professionnelles, aux côtés des élus. », souligne l’eurodéputée. 

Au Parlement européen, elle s’est fermement engagée, dès son élection en 2014, pour débloquer ce dossier. En mobilisant un certain nombre de ses collègues parlementaires européens, elle est parvenue à faire bouger les lignes et à réouvrir le dialogue. 

« Grâce à cette IGP, c’est le savoir-faire alsacien que nous mettons à l’honneur. Mais c’est aussi une réponse que nous apportons aux consommateurs qui aspirent aujourd’hui à des signes d’authenticité et de qualité. », conclut l’élue.
