About

The 'Panama Papers' revelations, some of the biggest leaks in the history of journalism, revealed information about the secret offshore companies used by dictators, business tycoons and criminals to hide wealth, evade taxes, commit fraud and launder money. Following the revelations, the European Parliament set up an Inquiry Committee to investigate if EU law has been infringed and what legislative changes are necessary to tackle the problem. The Inquiry Committee started its work in June 2016 and has a term of 12 months.

Full mandate of the committee.
