Member of Junge Union (JU), CSU, since 1989. From 2003, Regional Chairman of JU, Bavaria. Bureau member, CSU. From 2002, member, Kelheim district council. 2003-2004, member of the Bavarian Land parliament. President of the EPP Group. MEP since 2004.
