Guest Professor and Researcher at the Universities of Lyon, Grenoble, Oxford, Edinburg & Paris. The architect of Polish entry to the European Union. Active in the “Solidarność” movement. Vice-Chairman and International Secretary of Civic Platform. First Polish Minister for European Affairs, 1991-1996 & 2000-2001. Vice-Rector of the College of Europe Bruges and Natolin (1997-1999). Director of the Centre for European Studies, University of Łódź (1988-1991). Director, EU Institute, Collegium Civitas Warsaw. Board Member of Trans-European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA). Nominated for the European of the Year Award by the European Voice. Vice-Chairman of EPP. Member of the EPP-ED Group Bureau, Vice-President of the EP (2004-2007). Laureate of the Robert Schuman Polish European Prize, 1997. MEP since 2004.
