First deputy mayor of Nîmes, with responsibility for higher education and research. Chairman of the Sud Gard Territorial Coherence Plan (SCOT) (since 2008). Member of the Gard Departmental Council (Nîmes V district) (2004-2011). Knight of the National Order of Merit.MEP since 2011.
