Odbor za okoliš, javno zdravstvo i sigurnost hrane odgovoran je za održivi razvoj, politiku okoliša i mjere zaštite okoliša, posebno u vezi sa zagađenjem zraka, tla i vode, upravljanjem otpadom i reciklažom, opasnim tvarima i pripravcima, razinom buke, klimatskim promjenama i zaštitom biološke raznolikosti. Radi na pitanjima javnog zdravstva, a posebno na programima i konkretnim aktivnostima na području javnog zdravstva i farmaceutskih i kozmetičkih proizvoda. Konačno, bavi se pitanjima sigurnosti hrane, posebno označavanjem i sigurnošću hrane,veterinarskim zakonskim propisima za zaštitu od opasnosti za ljudsko zdravlje, nadzire hranu i sustave proizvodnje hrane.
