Brexit

Ujedinjena Kraljevina je 29. ožujka 2017. aktivirala članak 50. slijedom referenduma na kojem je prije devet mjeseci tijesnom većinom izglasala da će napustiti EU, čime je službeno pokrenut Brexit te je započeto dvogodišnje razdoblje pregovora o „sporazumu o razvodu”. To je prvi put da država članica napušta EU.

Europski parlament bio je prva institucija EU-a koja je usvojila svoje stajalište o Brexitu u travnju 2017. te će morati odobriti ili odbiti konačni sporazum o izlasku.

U tom su stajalištu izraženi naši prioriteti, a to su: osigurati prava građana EU-a u Ujedinjenoj Kraljevini, kao i prava građana Ujedinjene Kraljevine u državama članicama, zajamčiti da Ujedinjena Kraljevina izvrši svoje financijske obaveze te sklopiti sporazum o Sjevernoj Irskoj kojim bi se izbjegla „tvrda” granica s Irskom i kojim bi se formalno potvrdile odredbe mirovnog sporazuma koji je potpisan na Veliki petak 1998.

Rezolucija će također poslužiti kao mjerilo za ishod pregovora o povlačenju Ujedinjene Kraljevine iz EU-a.

Brexit će tijekom sljedeće dvije godine ostati jedan od prioriteta Europskog parlamenta s obzirom na to da će EU i Ujedinjena Kraljevina prvo pregovarati o uređenom povlačenju Ujedinjene Kraljevine, zatim o prijelaznim aranžmanima te naposljetku o sporazumu o našem budućem odnosu.

Prema ispitivanju koje je dao izraditi naš klub zastupnika, 78% građana EU-a smatra da bi primarni cilj za pregovore o Brexitu trebao biti zaštita interesa preostalih 27 članica EU-a, posebice njihova gospodarstva. Više rezultata ispitivanja.
