Keskkonna-, rahvatervise ja toiduohutuse komisjon vastutab säästva arengu, keskkonnapoliitika ja keskkonnakaitsemeetmete eest eelkõige seoses õhu-, pinnase- ja veereostuse, jäätmemajanduse ja ringlussevõtu, ohtlike ainete ja valmististe, mürataseme, kliimamuutuse ja bioloogilise mitmekesisuse kaitsega.Lisaks tegeleb ta rahvatervisega, eelkõige sellealaste programmide ja erimeetmetega, ning farmaatsia- ja kosmeetikatoodetega.Samuti tegeleb see komisjon toiduohutuse küsimustega, eelkõige toiduainete märgistamise ja ohutusega, veterinaaria-alaste õigusaktidega, mis käsitlevad inimeste tervise kaitset, ning toiduainete ja nende tootmissüsteemide sanitaarkontrolliga.
