"This evening, Antonio Tajani showed great expertise, knowledge of specific subjects about the Industry and Entrepreneurship portfolio and his capacity to defend European interests towards the EU's international partners", said Mario Mauro MEP, Head of the Italian Delegation (PDL) of the EPP Group, after the Hearing in Strasbourg. "His timely responses to questions from Members highlighted the strong will to undertake the structural reforms that Europe needs to ensure greater productivity and economic growth for the benefit of our citizens", continued Mauro.
"We fully share his desire to create a fast track for small and medium-sized enterprises in the development of his policies at European level. The European Parliament will support his policy for businesses to promote competitiveness and job creation, with particular attention paid to the needs of the manufacturing sector and small and medium-sized enterprises", said Mauro.
"We believe that with Antonio Tajani firmly at the head of European industry, employment and competitiveness will be the focus of the initiatives of the new European Commission.
