LUX Prize 2009: Invitation to a press conference. Doris Pack MEP

Doris Pack, Chairwoman of the Committee on Culture and Education, will hold a press conference on:

Doris Pack will be joined by Fatih Akin and Hanna Schygulla, respectively Director of and actress in the winning film 'Auf der anderen Seite' of the first Lux Prize in 2007.

The major aims of the Lux Prize are to widen the European public debate in showing the process of building Europe in a different light and to breaking through the language barrier that prevents films moving around the European Union.

The European Parliament together with the Goethe Institute has just released for the first time ever a DVD edition of 'Auf der anderen Seite' in 30 languages, including the adaptation of the German original version for hearing and visually-impaired people, as provided by the European Parliament.
