About

The Committee on Legal Affairs is responsible for the interpretation and application of European law and compliance of European Union acts with primary law. It also interprets international law in so far as the European Union is affected. Among its other prerogatives, the Committee also adopts measures concerning judicial and administrative cooperation in civil matters and deals with environmental liability and sanctions against environmental crime.
